Daniele Corvia was enthusiast to join Hellas Verona and he found the agreement with Sean Sogliano in Milan.
Everything was ok but Lecce, in the last minutes with an unexpected afterthought, have decided to not sell the forward.

Sogliano is still trying to convince the salentini but the deal is now difficult to conclude.

Bojinov-Hellas, Sporting still have to agree the deal

It seemed that everything was done for Valeri Bojinov move to Hellas Verona. Or maybe everything was almost done.
Why? Because the Bulgarian striker is in Verona waiting for Sporting Lisbon's confirm of the deal.

Is it a bureaucratic problem or an afterthought by Sporting?
Sean Sogliano is waiting, in Milan, the signature of Sporting that will officialize the deal.

Bojinov has already signed for Hellas but the contract wasn't registered to the Lega Calcio yet.

Nobody convinced the gialloblu sporting director but in the last minutes, Hellas Verona seem to have found the right man.
It's Alessandro Berardi, born in 1991, he's the third Lazio's goalkeeper and he's close to sign for the gialloblu.
If Berardi signs, it's likely that Nicolas will leave.

Manuel Mancini
source: Hellas1903.it

Sean Sogliano is insisting to close the departures of Bjelanovic to Cittadella and Mancini to Salernitana.
The deal with the veneti for the Croatian is still possible despite Cittadella were fed up about the situation: in fact yesterday they weren't sure to close the deal because of the big delay that Hellas caused due to a sort of hesitation.

On the contrary, Mancini is about to join Giuseppe Galderisi's Salernitana in the next few hours: the clubs are just waiting for his signature on the contract.

Ferdinando Sforzini
source: Hellas1903.it

Yesterday evening Hellas Verona tried to present another offer to Grosseto for bomber Ferdinando Sforzini, but the answer of president Piero Camilli was always the same: an unequivocal no.

For Hellas the chances to sign Sforzini are not many but tomorrow Sogliano will present another offer.

Berrettoni, in the last weeks, said he wasn't attracted by the idea of playing for Lumezzane; it seems more likely that the attacking midfielder born in Rome might join Lecce, a big team that is trying to sign player to return in Serie B.

Two days before the summer transfer market closes: what is Hellas going to do in these last days?

Gardini, Setti and Sogliano

The transfer market will close the day after tomorrow at 7 o'clock pm.
As usual, lot of 'last minute' deals will be officialized that day and Hellas is still looking for two or maybe three good signings. What might be useful for the gialloblu?

Verona was interested since the beginning of this transfer market session last July to a bomber who can guarantee at least 15 goals, thing that wasn't present last season. Ferrari was suspended for three years due to calcioscommesse scandal and can't take part to the official games while Pichlmann was sold to Spezia. The only forwards in Hellas team are new signing Andrea Cocco, who is now injured, and Sasa Bjelanovic, but Sogliano and Setti want to sell him even if manager Andrea Mandorlini will be happy if it'd be confirmed, who is about to join Cittadella.

Bjelanovic set to sign for Cittadella within tomorrow

According to SerieB.com, Bjelanovic will sign for the patavino's club within tomorrow. If Sasa will leave another forward will be signed and the more likely to join seem Sforzini and Ebagua.

Hellas, eyes on Parma jewels Morrone and Modesto

Parma captain Stefano Morrone celebrating a goal
Sean Sogliano doesn't want to stop his work. The sporting director is in talks with Parma for two of their jewels: Stefano Morrone (30) and Francesco Modesto (30).
Morrone, captain of the ducali, is a centre half while Modesto is a left full back.

Sogliano believes that the midfield need another player as well as the role of left full back occupied by the only Fatic and occasionally by Albertazzi, after Pugliese's long time injury. The Montenegrin didn't convince at all in his first official match and someone more experienced might join.

Ferdinando Sforzini

It seemed that everything was stopped but in the last hours something has changed. Despite the sentences made by Grosseto president Piero Camilli ('no chance to see Sforzini with another club') the deal is now likely to have a positive end but only if the club interested will offer cash.

Mancini, there are Vicenza and Salernitana

Manuel Mancini is about to leave Hellas Verona.
The attacking midfielder, also used as a winger in his experience with the gialloblu, didn't play frequently last year due to some injuries and tachtical choices.
He is now a target of Vicenza and Salernitana.

Out with the old, in with the new...

Sean Sogliano, new Hellas SD
"If it's not broken, then don't fix it":

..a statement that rings true in all walks of life. Why change something that works? After all, meddling could result in breakage. Yet in the case of Hellas Verona and in particular the new management team of president Maurizio Setti and sporting director Sean Sogliano, new foundations are being laid after two successful years under previous duo Martinelli and Gibellini. Perhaps wanting to stamp a new authority on the squad has resulted in the raft of changes seen in the squad, but were the changes necessary?

We all know the relationship between coach Andrea Mandorlini were never great.

The Serie B start: what we'll expect this year?

With yesterday night's game between Modena and Hellas Verona at the 'Braglia' stadium, the Serie B 2012/13 has officially started.

It will definitely be a different season compared to the one we saw last year. There won't be big teams or fallen giant like it was with Torino and Sampdoria, that both reached the promotion to Serie A. The only team that is in that category is Hellas Verona: one of the team that strengthen the most in this transfer market with great signing such as Rivas and Grossi.
As well as the gialloblu, also Spezia played a great role in this transfer market even if the 'Aquile' are a neo-promoted team.

Mandorlini after Modena: "It wasn't a good game, we need to improve"

Andrea Mandorlini
"The positive thing is that we didn't lose today. All in all, I saw lot of things that must be arranged". Andrea Mandorlini started in this way the press conference after the suffered draw obtained by Hellas Verona in Modena.

"We were really poor, without creating the chances I expected to see. We need to work a lot and improve tactically and physically. Hallfredsson was not at his best, Fatic suffered a muscle fatigue during this week. Also Bacinovic, who played a good game in my opinion, was not completely fit".

It was an important win, but we know that the difficulties have yet to come. I saw the enthusiasm in the lads, they gave everything they could. Lot of energies spent before the League start next Friday? I don't think it'll be a problem, our manager knows how to manage it".

Then he continued by talking about the transfer market: "We want to complete the team, something will happen. We wish within Tuesday, otherwise we'll have time until the 31st August".

source: hellasverona.it

Hellas Verona manager Andrea Mandorlini commented yesterday night the gialloblu performance against Genoa, that saw his lads winning 5-2 after penalties: "Great effort and sacrifice. We were tired and it was difficult to maintain the concentration. I saw lot of positive things, but also negative aspects such as missed three big occasions to score".

He then added: "We knew we would have suffered a bit and we were ready to do it. We demonstrated that we became a real team. The goal disallowed to Gomez? We thought it was regular. However, the most important thing was to pass the round. Now we need to recover and then we'll think about the Modena game".
