The theme of the game was clear since the first minutes: Hellas Verona tried to make the game to gain three important points to the Serie A race while the visitors, Grosseto, hoped to hold the draw with a five men defense.
After few attempts, the gialloblu took the lead after '30 with Daniele Cacia who went past Bremec to beat him.

Under 21, Devis Mangia didn't call up Jorginho for the playoffs

Italy's Under 21 manager Devis Mangia
Devis Mangia was at the 'Euganeo' stadium last Friday.
The Under 21 manager, in former times at Varese primavera before  take over the Palermo bench, is an admirer of Hellas Verona midfielder Jorginho who became Italian last week and is then eligible for the National team.

But Mangia didn't call up the young midfielder. In fact, his integration will be gradual and after the double tie against Sweden Under 21 in Pescara the 12th October and in Kalmar the 16th.

Mandorlini: "We need to be more humble"

Andrea Mandorlini
Andrea Mandorlini was certainly annoyed after losing in Padova in the 94th minute. Here's his thoughts about the game: "We made the game, always trying to win it, the mistakes are part of the game and this time we paid them. I'm so much angry, because I don't think the team deserved to lose tonight. We had few chances to close the game and we need to be more cynic. A two-faced Verona? Sometimes it comes about that we start very well and then we let ourself down. We don't have to think how good we can play, this is a signal of no humbleness and I don't like it at all. Hallfredsson's substitution? He played well, but we didn't stop playing after we changed him. Bojinov? I thought it was the right moment, the team was creating a lot without finalizing. I tried to win the game but in retrospect it was better to put in a defender. We need to concentrate on Grosseto now. Tough defeat? Yes, we need to be more humble, I think that the defeats don't help a team, I want always to win".

Pagelle, Padova 2-1 Hellas Verona

Andrea Mandorlini in Padova
Rafael 6: The Brazilian goalkeeper is completely blameless in the two goals scored by Padova. He then saves a dangerous shot by Rafael and one volley tries by Granoche. Honestly he did not have so many work.

Cacciatore 6: The former Sampdoria defender plays a good game holding back both Renzetti and the awaited Cutolo. He did not push too much like we saw in the last game. In the second half Mandorlini put him on the right.

Maietta 5.5: Not a great game by the captain. Although Padova second goal was an error by Moras, he was too slow on covering Raimondi. Honestly Mimmo didn't play a good game.

Bojinov after scoring against Bari
Valeri Emil Bojinov released a small interview last Saturday after his late winning goal against Bari at 'Bentegodi': "I'm very happy we won today, for me, for the teammates, who help me a lot and for the club. The three points were so important today because now we gave continuity to Varese win. Our performance? The win was worth than everything even if we didn't play bad. My goal against Bari? That's true, for me it counts even more because I played three amazing seasons with Lecce and this goal is a bit for them. I'd like to say that Rafael was fundamental today because he saved us. Our strength? I'll repeat it again, it's the group".

Mandorlini: "The lads believed in the victory"

Andrea Mandorlini
Andrea Mandorlini was satisfied at the end of the game: "At the end of the first half I didn't know what to tell to the lads because they played a superb game. I told them to keep on doing the great job. We found the winning goal in the last minutes and I think we deserved it. I risked when I changed the tactical scheme, because we were very offensive, but we won and this is the most important thing".

The manager, who lost his voice during the game, continued: "These kind of victories are very useful for the group. We can improve even more but by now I'm really happy". Then he spent few words about Bojinov: "He was our principal forward when I put him into the game. But the team worked for him and they were all fantastic".

Goal scorer: '88 Bojinov

Hellas Verona continue their invincibility in the 2012/13 Serie B thank to a late goal by Bulgarian star Valeri Bojinov.
The first half is entirely dominated by the gialloblu who played a good football without finding the goal. Bari goalkeeper Lamanna denied firstly to Laner and then Cacciatore the goal after '5. Then Dos Santos saved on the line a great volley by Gomez as the goalkeeper was freeze.
In the second half the biancorossi played better and went close to the goal with Bellomo and Caputo but Rafael was alert.
In the 83rd minute, Mandorlini changed Gomez and Hallfredsson with Carrozza and Grossi and after five minutes Bojinov came before Lamanna and beat him with a perfect header that guarantee the three points.
